Football and All!

To be a crochet artist, you get inspired to make many things by observing whats around you.

Practically living on the field all of the time, there's so many people around and when theres people you always see cute little babies, which I adore!! So I made crochet football hats.  Which starts at $5 for children. One of the fellow Team Mom is expecting and I decided to surprise her with this Brown and Pink laced crochet football hat for her baby girl for when the Football Season kicks in. I can't wait to see the look on her precious face!!

Me, being a football mom - I see cheerleaders all around with there orange and blue pom poms #BronxColts. So I decided to make some. They are on sale for $3.00/pair. Everything is made when ordered. It is your choice of 2 color combinations! Click Here

First Blog Post! The Start of Crocheting.

Well hey there! My name is Crystal and I decided to start blogging because I find that I'm not alone in the world of Crocheting! I learned how to crochet about 20 years ago (basic single crochet stitch).

I would pick up the needle every now and then to comfort my boredom and just make single crochets... My mother crochet a few blankets - As I say ooo that's nice! I never thought that I would love crocheting as much as I do now!
In 2010, while commuting on the train on my way to work I had a wake up call! As a beautiful woman entered the train I starred at her in awww! She had the most unique earrings I have seen in a long time. Crochet Earrings????!!! Really?? I said to myself - Hey wait a minute, I can do that!!

I went straight home and picked up some yarn that I had hiding in my closet for about 2 years (I was starting a blanket doing just the single crochets - Yes SINGLE CROCHET BLANKET FOR A QUEEN SIZE BED) I knew I would never in a million years finish it! So as I picked up the yarn, I got on my comfy computer chair and logged on to youtube.com just to see if there were any crocheting earrings I can make for myself. BOY! Did Youtube change my life!! There were soooo many tutorials on how to do basically anything!! I start making a few earrings and would get many compliments.

I was obsessed with Teresa Richardson (tjw1967), OneVirtuousWoman, and Bob Wilson. Everyday logging on learning how make basic stitches look like the most tedious task was my cup of tea! 2010 was my year of exploring and learning all about crochet. Michaels Crafting store became my best friend! Picking up How to Crochet Books and more yarn than I can handle.

As I made crocheting as a hobby, Work during the day, Being a Football Mom at night and weekends - I became burden down. My income wasn't anywhere I needed to be. It was very hard to keep food on the table and get basic necessities in my home. Not having a raised income the last 5 years, I was at my wits end. I started searching for part time jobs, but the hours weren't what I can make so that was very troublesome.

I had a long conversation with a friend of mine and he drilled in me that I need a passion to keep me going. He would ask what I like to do, I would say well I love kids - I love to work - I like to crochet. He seen some of my crochet work and told me this is what I need to do to make some more money. I started posting different pics of earrings, rings, and hats that I worn on my facebook page and would receive the most delightful responses. Once I knew the people were interested I started selling.

Now today 2013. I am a crochet addict. I love it with a passion. I love making things and seeing my clients faces.

As I continue to deliver my orders to the unknown I feel blessed and honored that I am appreciated for what I can do. I'm very thankful for my talent.

Crocheting is a learning process and when you get it down packed, you got it!

I am preparing to do great things!

Please visit my $5 site!

I have another site as well!
I can't wait to hand make you something!
